happy thanksgiving!!

Hope you are enjoying your turkeys :) and your time with family. I thought it was worth re-posting this little excerpt from a post I wrote two years ago ...

During dinner on Thursday night, my grandmother handed me a platter of turkey and I politely declined. She questioned why I did not want any and I quickly declared, “I only like turkey in my shirt.” Then I paused and covered my mouth, after realizing what I had said. What?!? What did I mean and where did that come from?? Well . . . I had meant to say that I really only like turkey on my sandwiches – but, I guess it just didn't come out right. So, my family enjoyed a good laugh and I was thoroughly embarrassed.

wisdom teeth

I had my wisdom teeth removed today. I was freaked out ... I had never had an IV in my arm (nor any sort of surgery). But, I survived!! :) The doctor was really nice and he made me feel very assured. Unfortunately, my stomach hated the medication but I will be taking something different this evening with hopes that everything stays in my stomach :) Thanks to Dr. Mom who was my chauffuer and nurse for the day and to Nic for making me dinner and keeping me company. And to those of you who prayed - I appreciate you! Thanks. Please continue to pray for a quick and painless recovery.

to the only god

"To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy — to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen."
-- Jude 1:24 & 25 (NIV)

it's beginning to look a lot like ...

CHRISTMAS!!!!! The weather is cold, colored lights are showing up on nearby roofs, local stores are advertising their holiday sales, the red cups are back at Starbucks ... and visions of sugarplums are dancing in my head! Woo hoo! Christmas is just around the corner (well, sort of) and I am anxious to go Christmas shopping.
