Quotes
I love to read quotes ... quotes about anything and everything.
I've shared a few different ones in my blog.
So, what is your favorite quote?
"for love is as strong as death...many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. if a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised." -- song of solomon 8:6-7

allene... you're funny. i like Ignatius' quote... it really is powerful. i want my heart... even when it is broken and shattered to be like a mirror, reflecting Jesus from every shard.
Ooooh, this is a fun game. Here's one of my favorites (sorry, it's a bit lengthier than Allene's)...
Alexis de Tocqueville, referencing his trip to America in the 1830's: "In the end, the state of the Union comes down to the character of the people. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there. In the fertile fields and boundless prairies, and it was not there. In her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits, aflame with righteousness, did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
Incidentally, Jen, due to the fact that you "love to read quotes" -- I'm almost afraid to point you to Wikiquote -- which is where I found the above quotation...
Oooh! I am very excited about this new website. Thanks Jon!

one of my teen mania girls posted this on her site and I guess you could say its a pretty cool quote:
"I got to pet a donkey last night. His name is Napoleon...and when I walked away from his fence I shouted, 'Tina, come eat your dinner, you fat lard!' because I'm cool."
"Teach us, Good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest;
to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds;
to toil and not to seek for rest; to labor and not to ask for any reward
save that of knowing that we do Thy will …”
- St. Ignatius of Loyola
Okay Jenny, I've got two quotes for you:
"Far better to dare mighty things,
to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory, nor defeat."
- Theodore Roosevelt
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
- Michael Jordan
Moral of the quotes - go embark, go try even if you fail, it is better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all. . .
